Park Na Rae’s Past Comments About Ex-Boyfriends And Money Gain Spotlight After Recent Controversy
As allegations have surfaced that Park Na Rae transferred approximately ₩300 million KRW (about $204,000 USD) to her ex-boyfriend from a company-owned account, her past remarks are once again drawing attention.
On December 3, two of Park Na Rae’s former managers claimed that they had been subjected to power abuse by her, alleging issues such as aggravated injury, proxy prescriptions, unpaid production expenses, being ordered to run personal errands for food and alcohol, being forced to attend drinking gatherings, and verbal abuse. They also exposed allegations of Park Na Rae’s embezzlement and illegal medical procedures. On December 6, additional reports alleged that Park Na Rae, as the de facto head of a one-person agency, had embezzled company funds.
According to the reports, Park Na-rae allegedly registered her ex-boyfriend as a formal employee and paid him ₩44.0 million KRW (about $29,900 USD) in salary over 11 months, while also paying ₩55.0 million KRW (about $37,400 USD) in wages to her mother despite no actual work being performed. It was further claimed that she transferred approximately 300 million[/krw[ to her ex-boyfriend to help him secure a housing deposit.
Amid the ongoing battle over the truth, attention has turned to comments Park Na Rae made last year on Channel A’s Oh Eun Young’s Golden Counseling Center, where she spoke about her relationship with an ex-boyfriend.
At the time, Park claimed that she mostly dated men out of her league.
“Even if I’m not married, isn’t it normal that I might date a decent or handsome guy? There’s never been a boyfriend who hasn’t been asked, be it half jokingly or half seriously, ‘Why are you dating her?’ or ‘What do you like about Na Rae?’”
When Jung Hyung Don joked that people might ask if she’s paying her boyfriend, Park claimed that many think that way.
“There were so many people who made that joke. Some even said outright, ‘Na Rae doesn’t actually have that much money,’ or ‘She doesn’t have money to spend on you.’ At first I laughed it off, but after hearing it repeatedly, I started wondering, ‘What is this really?’”
Concerns from people around her regarding her relationships were also revealed. On a YouTube episode of Naraesik released last August, Kian84 candidly shared that out of all of Na Rae’s boyfriends, he found two suspicious.
“There were about two guys I really looked closely at. Even though she has had good-looking ex-boyfriends, I was always suspicious of them at first. I would tell Si An hyung, ‘That guy is probably after Park Na-rae’s assets.’”
