Popular Singer Reveals He Was Threatened Into Getting Married

In the latest episode of Knowing Bros, singer Paul Kim revealed what finally made him get married after being in a relationship with his girlfriend for almost a decade.

According to Paul Kim, his wife “waited” for him a long time before the two of them finally tied the knot…

Paul Kim: My wife and I dated for about 9 years. We met a long time ago.

Show Hosts: So you two have dated longer than you have been married.

Paul Kim: Right. She waited for me for a long time.

…but it was actually his mother-in-law who really pushed him to make it official.

Paul Kim revealed that, when he once sat down for a meal with his girlfriend and mother-in-law, the mother-in-law gave him an ultimatum.

I mean, people kept asking when we would get married. So I’d been thinking about it. But one day, my mother-in-law asked to have a meal with me and my wife. The three of us got together and dined in a private room. That’s when she straight-up told me, ‘Listen, Paul. If you don’t put a ring on my daughter in the next three years… I’ll kill ya.’

Looking back, I’m sure she was kidding. But at the time, I felt like… She was actually intimidating. I knew in my bones that it was a warning, you know? She was basically telling me to break up with her daughter if I wasn’t going to marry her.

So, to keep his “promise” with his mother-in-law, Paul Kim finally got married in 2024. Though he and his wife did not hold a ceremony, it happened before the three years were up!
