The heated discourse surrounding fan etiquette while approaching a K-Pop idol in public was reignited yet again after a popular idol was caught up in a dangerous mobbing incident that even put his mother’s safety at risk.

The idol in question, SEVENTEEN‘s Dino, faced the overcrowding situation in Hong Kong. The group recently arrived in Hong Kong to kick off the Asian leg of their New_ World Tour.

A day before the first concert, some fans spotted Dino walking with his mother through the streets of Hong Kong. The situation took a turn for the worse as more people gathered around the idol, and at one point, his mother got separated from him.

Pictures taken around this moment showed Dino visibly panicked and trying to reach out to his mother as cameras continued to film him from all sides.

This incident has sparked a massive uproar on social media, with CARATs (SEVENTEEN fans) calling out their fellow fans not only for invading Dino’s privacy but also for putting him in such a stressful situation.

Meanwhile, a few weeks ago, yet another inappropriate incident involving a SEVENTEEN member sparked heated discussion about the need for strict fan etiquette. Read more here:
