Recently, MC Mong uploaded a photo of his home interior on social media, showcasing various artworks displayed around the space. Among them, there was a portrait of Adolf Hitler, the leader of the German Nazi Party, and the architect of the Holocaust. The photo immediately brought a flood of criticism from netizens who reprimanded MC Mong for allegedly ignoring the historical sensitivity of a figure like Hitler. Some even feared that it implied his idolization of such a horrific dictator.

The controversy was further fueled by the singer’s past scandals. MC Mong had received backlash for his homophobic remarks in 2004, and he was also allegedly involved in a military draft evasion scandal in 2010.

As the backlash continued to mount, MC Mong addressed it with an explanation. He posted the artwork on Instagram, stating that the original artist’s intention was to condemn Hitler, not to appreciate him.

This painting is an early piece by artist Ok Seung Cheol. The mustache part is colored using straws to express human greed and selfishness, and the barbarity of someone who sucks the blood of others.

He further added that the painting had been in his collection for a really long time, and was displayed at his studio since his early days with the music team “Double Sidekick” and later at BPM Entertainment.

The singer also expressed his frustration at the criticism he was receiving, retorting, “The thing about artworks is that some are created with the intent to condemn, not worship, and there are art enthusiasts who appreciate such works… Some of you apparently do not understand art and are ignorant enough to think that simply writing [hate comments] makes you right.”

He firmly clarified his stance regarding Hitler, stating, “I hate Hitler. So very extremely. I despise anyone who instigates war.”
