Problematic YouTuber Defeated As Platform Takes Down Viral Video And Demonetizes Channel

A victory for the women who came together.

After finding itself at the center of the clash between Korean men and the internet amid the shocking Telegram-based digital sex crimes that shook Korea, YouTuber PPKKa‘s channel has been demonetized.

PPKKa, a notorious “wrecker” YouTuber with 1.19M followers, was slammed with damning comments from women all over the world after the news of South Korea’s “New Nth Room” deepfake scandal broke.

When it was discovered that PPKKa mocked the Korean women speaking up about the scandal in a video, women from all over the world flocked to its comment section, criticizing the YouTuber for being toxic, and reported the video and the channel for violating YouTube’s policies.

Notorious YouTuber’s Channel Turned Battleground Between The Internet vs. Korean Men Amid Deepfake Chatroom Scandal

Following, on August 30, 2024 (KST), a YouTube representative reported that PPKKa’s channel had been demonetized. The representative also mentioned the recent video about the Telegram-based digital sex crime had been deleted. As of now, PPKKa’s channel no longer has the donation feature or the option to view membership videos. Ads have also become unavailable.

The YouTube representative stated, “YouTube’s community guidelines include clear policies against harassment and cyberbullying, prohibiting content that exposes specific individuals to physical harm based on social or political contexts. Based on these policies, we carefully reviewed and removed videos from the ‘PPKKa’ channel.”

According to the creator responsibility guidelines explaining the actions that can be taken if a creator’s behavior, on or off the platform, harms the YouTube community, we have suspended PPKKa channel’s participation in the YouTube Partner Program. As a result, the channel cannot generate revenue on YouTube.

PPKKa is not the first “wrecker” YouTuber to get “canceled” for problematic content. Caracula, who was suspected of threatening and blackmailing mukbang content  creator Tzuyang, was scrutinized and eventually left the platform on his own.
