Rapper Sik-K Sentenced To Jail

He will be jailed.

South Korean rapper Sik-K has been sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year suspension after voluntarily turning himself in for drug use. The ruling was handed down on April 30, 2025, at the Seoul Western District Court.

Sik-K was charged with violating the Narcotics Control Act after admitting to the use of marijuana, ketamine, and ecstasy (MDMA). In addition to the suspended sentence, the court ordered him to undergo probation and complete 40 hours of drug relapse prevention education.

In delivering the verdict, Judge Ma emphasized the seriousness of the case, noting that Sik-K had committed multiple offenses and used a variety of drugs. “The repeated drug use, including not only marijuana but also ketamine and MDMA, along with his prior record and social influence as a public figure, are aggravating factors,” declared the Judge.

However, the court also considered several mitigating factors for a lighter sentence.

“Sik-K has shown sincere remorse, vowed not to reoffend, and maintains strong social ties. He turned himself in and admitted to marijuana possession and use.”

According to prosecutors, Sik-K used ketamine and ecstasy between October 1 and 9, 2023. Notably, on January 19 of the same year, he approached a police officer in Yongsan-gu and asked, “Is this the police station?” before voluntarily confessing to drug use.

Following the investigation, Sik-K was indicted without detention in June 2023. Prosecutors had initially sought a prison sentence of three years and six months. Now, he will only serve 10 months. The case has drawn public attention due to Sik-K popularity in the Korean hip-hop scene and his unexpected decision to come forward voluntarily. You can read more about his confession below.
