Red Velvet’s Irene Confesses She’s Worried About Her First Lead Role In A Film

She may be worried, but there’s a reason why she decided to take on the lead role.

Red Velvet‘s Irene and Seulgi recently appeared on MBC Radio’s Kim Shin Young’s Hope Song at Noon where they talked about Irene’s first lead role in a film 6 years after her debut.

 

 

SM Entertainment recently announced that Irene was cast as an aspiring anchor in the film, Double Patty.

The film will be directed by the award-winning Baek Seung Hwan, and it’s a coming-of-age story about the growth of the nation’s youth.

And when Irene was asked to describe her sentiments regarding her snagging the lead role in a film in five syllables, Irene answered,

I’m so worried.

Despite her worry, Irene explained the reason why she decided to go for the role.

I really liked the way the character worked so hard in life and tried her best to pursue her dream.

She also added the upside of playing an aspiring anchor.

Since I’m playing the role of an aspiring anchor, when I’m done with my activities, I feel like I received coaching lessons.

Regarding Irene’s debut into the movie scene, Seulgi expressed her sentiments as well.

I’m really excited at the thought of going to watch Unnie’s movie with my fellow members.

The filming of Double Patty is set to begin this August.
