On November 7, late at night, the idol hosted a livestream and got surprisingly candid with fans about the current situation of BTS’s comeback, as well as the group’s overall changed dynamic.

During the broadcast, he constantly received comments regarding the other BTS members, which prompted an unusually raw reaction from RM. He called out the comments, clearly asking people to refrain from asking about other members during his solo livestream. He admitted that it was “upsetting,” adding that the other members could do their separate broadcasts if they wanted to. He repeated the same response in English as well, re-emphasizing his stance.

RM’s frustration appeared to be stemming from the constant expectation from people to represent and speak for the entire team. So, RM took the opportunity to address his changing role within the group. He explained that all the members have grown into different people with their own boundaries and diverse lifestyles, and he alone could no longer represent the group as he did in the earlier days.

RM’s words have been interpreted in different ways by netizens. While some saw it as him indirectly addressing the “controversies” relating to his fellow BTS members, especially Jungkook

…Fans saw it as RM setting a boundary and giving fans a reality check about the BTS members being distinct, whole individuals with their own separate lives and schedules.

This, however, was not the only remark that hit the viewers hard. While discussing BTS’s future plans, RM addressed the criticism that the group had not released any content together in 2025, despite all the members returning from the military. He explained that there were specific standards that their music had to meet for them to be fully satisfied with it and put it out. There are other logistics that need to be taken into consideration as well.

He also admitted that while planning for their comeback, there were even multiple discussions about disbandment or a hiatus. However, the members decided to keep going because they love their team and fans.

He also touched upon the changed operations within BTS’s label, stating that he was just an employee at a listed company now. So, even if he wanted to move things faster, he couldn’t override the bigger system in place.

All of these serious points that RM discussed during his livestream have left fans questioning exactly how much pressure he and the group are currently under, be it from the ongoing controversies or the various diplomacies they have to juggle while being under public scrutiny at all times. Many fans felt that the energy of the broadcast was heavy, and empathized with RM, sending him warm words of encouragement.
