OG Heartthrob Actor Finally Reveals His Gorgeous 19-Years-Younger Wife
The latest teaser for an upcoming episode of TV Chosun‘s Lovers of Joseon program has Korean netizens buzzing with a first-ever look at actor Ryu Si Won‘s “celebrity-like” wife.
53-year-old Ryu Si Won, who made his debut with KBS in 1994 and was considered one of Korea’s most popular actors until the early 2000s, got divorced after one year and three months of marriage following his first wedding in 2010, and later remarried his current wife in February 2020.
He first revealed the fact that his wife is 19 years younger than him during his 2024 appearance on a YouTube show, noting, “I didn’t want her to be affected, so we kept it private, but articles kept wrongly saying she was two or six years younger. A lot of people still don’t know, but we have a 19-year age difference.”

That said, the TV Chosun teaser became the first to fully reveal the said wife, showing the couple attending comedian Yoon Jung Soo‘s wedding—and the show hosts could not hide their surprise at the wife’s celebrity-esque beauty.
Previously, Ryu Si Won had introduced his wife as a star mathematics instructor. He also talked about falling in love at first sight with her on SBS‘s Dolsing Fourmen back in 2024.
I fell for her at first sight because she was my ideal type, and we naturally exchanged numbers and began dating. But after ten months, we broke up. As my feelings grew stronger, the 19-year age gap and my status as a divorcee weighed heavily on me. I didn’t think I could bear public scrutiny.
