SBS Releases Official Apology Letter To Red Velvet’s Wendy For Her Accident

They explained their story.

During Gayo Daejeon‘s rehearsal that took place yesterday, Red Velvet‘s Wendy suffered an accident where she fractured her right hip, cheek, and wrist. The accident was allegedly caused by the show’s negligence in failing to properly mark and secure their stage props.

Due to her injuries, Wendy will not be participating in the remaining schedules for Red Velvet and will be focusing on her recovery for an indefinite amount of time.

 

Fans rose up in outrage as they demanded an apology from SBS and began a petition against the broadcast company for their negligence.

SBS responded with an official apology to Wendy, her family, Red Velvet members and fans.

During the rehearsal yesterday (25th) for Gayo Daejeon, an unfortunate accident occurred. SBS would like to sincerely apologize once again to Red Velvet’s Wendy, who was injured, her family and the members, as well as the fans.

Wendy’s recovery is the top priority. Ever since the accident occurred, the head director of SBS’s Entertainment division and the production staff have been working with SM’s representatives to provide the best proper care for her treatments.

On the 25th, the producers guarded off the area immediately after the accident and called 119 for Wendy to be rushed to the hospital to receive treatments as soon as possible. SBS has begun an internal investigation to directly determine the factors related to the accident. We will take strict action to make sure something like this never happens in the future.

Currently, Red Velvet’s Wendy was admitted to a hospital in Seoul, and is receiving examinations and treatments. SBS promises to do our best with Wendy’s family and doctors to make sure she recovers well as soon as possible.
