Back in February, School 2020 announced they cast Kim Yohan as the male lead, and Ahn Seo Hyun as a female lead. They planned to begin filming in March, with a target date of August for broadcasting.

However in March, both Ahn Seo Hyun and her father claimed she was unfairly removed from the cast in favor of Kim Sae Ron. Kim Sae Ron has not been confirmed for the drama yet, and is still considering the role. In the midst of the controversy, KBS decided to not broadcast School 2020, bringing a negative image to the School drama series, one of KBS’s most representative works. Cosmic Girls’ Eunseo has also been confirmed to join the cast.
