During a recent interview held on February 13 in Seoul, the show’s production team revealed that they directly asked Lee about the speculation. Producer Kim Jung Hyun stated that it was absolutely false. The rumor began circulating after viewers pointed out similarities in Lee Sung Hoon’s appearance and voice to the former president. However, according to the producers, Lee firmly denied any connection, clarifying that they are not even distant relatives.

“We checked with him personally, and he said it is absolutely not true. There were comments saying they resemble each other in appearance and voice, so we were curious and asked him, but he said, ‘Not at all.’ He also said they are not even distant relatives.”

Lee Sung Hun previously drew attention for his impressive background. A graduate of UC Berkeley, he worked as a Google engineer before becoming a quantitative trader based in New York. His standout résumé sparked additional curiosity among viewers, though the production team emphasized that casting primarily focuses on charm and presence rather than credentials.

With the clarification now made, it appears the speculation linking Lee Sung Hun to Lee Myung Bak can officially be put to rest. You can read about the initial rumors below.
