SM Hit With Backlash For Response To Girls’ Generation Taeyeon’s Fan Union Statement

Recently, Girls’ Generation Taeyeon’s upcoming concerts in Japan have been canceled for the most ridiculous reason.
On April 17, SM Entertainment announced that the two concerts scheduled in Tokyo would be canceled because the equipment for the Asia tour had not yet arrived in Japan.
Not long after, Taeyeon posted an apology to fans online, sparking even more anger among fans.
Most recently, Taeyeon posted a statement released by her fanclub DC Inside Taeyeon Gallery on her official Instagram.
Her global fan union demanded feedback on the unilateral and insincere cancellation notice released two days before the show.
They also stated that this delay caused damage to many fans traveling to Japan from overseas.
Regarding this, SM Entertainment responded.
We are not preparing a separate statement on our position.

It has been two weeks since the concert was canceled, yet fans have not received any notice about refunds or other measures.
Netizens were baffled at how SM was handling the situation.

- “They haven’t refunded anyone, and yet they’re saying they have nothing else to say?”
- “They always turn away from things when it’s their fault. So ridiculous.”
- “SM is so frustrating.”
- “They’re acting proud that they have no statement regarding their position?”
- “And yet they release statements right away when they aren’t in the wrong.”
