Son Heung Min’s Pregnancy Allegations Case Takes A Shocking Turn
A duo that extorted ₩300 million KRW (about $204,000 USD) from Son Heung Min has been sentenced to prison in the first trial. The duo, consisting of a woman who claimed to be pregnant with Son’s child, and her new boyfriend, had tried to blackmail Son with her alleged pregnancy.
On December 8, 2025, the Seoul Central District Court’s Criminal Division 20 sentenced Ms. Yang and Mr. Yong, who were indicted on charges including extortion, to four years and two years in prison, respectively. The defendants were accused of threatening Son Heung Min in June of last year by claiming Ms. Yang was pregnant, sending a fetal ultrasound image, and suggesting they would expose the matter unless they were paid.

Although Ms. Yang received ₩300 million KRW (about $204,000 USD) from Son Heung Min’s side and even signed a non-disclosure agreement that set damages at ₩3.00 billion KRW (about $2.04 million USD), investigators found that from March to May of this year, Ms. Yang and her romantic partner Mr. Yong threatened to reveal alleged pregnancy and abortion claims to the media and to Son Heung Min’s family, attempting to extort an additional ₩70.0 million KRW (about $47,500 USD).
According to the prosecution’s investigation, Yang initially tried to demand money from another man by claiming to be pregnant, but abandoned the attempt when he showed no response. She then falsely claimed to be pregnant with Son Heung Min’s child and demanded money. Fearing damage to Son’s social reputation and professional career as an athlete, his side paid ₩300 million KRW (about $204,000 USD).
After Yang spent all of the money on luxury goods and fell into financial hardship, she allegedly attempted to extort Son Heung Min again with the help of Mr. Yong, with whom she had entered into a romantic relationship. You can read more about the accusations below.
