It’s a well-known fact that trainees have to undergo a series of lessons each day. Previously on a reality show 1, 2, and 3 IVE, the girls showed themselves going for vocal, dance, and English lessons. They even attended exercise and pilates classes to maintain their health.
Other than these formal lessons, the IVE girls surprised everyone when they recounted the times they had to go for special lessons during their trainee period. They all had to undergo “selfie classes” to make sure they were picture perfect for their debut.
The surprising classes shocked MMTG MC Jae Jae, who questioned the need for such classes. How do selfie classes work? In Yujin‘s case, she was so bad at capturing her real-life beauty through photos that she had to send a few selfies daily to their teacher. Over the years, her skills improved.
Apart from Wonyoung and Yujin, the other four members also had to take TikTok classes. This curriculum was introduced only after Wonyoung and Yujin made their debut with IZ*ONE in 2018.
The girls had to take TikToks by themselves in the dorms or at home and send them to the teacher. They had to edit the videos carefully, even adding in effects where possible.
What an extremely 4th generation idol group type of thing to do! With idols catering to Gen Z consumers now, new platforms such as TikTok are a great way to expand their reach.
It’s no wonder that the IVE girls have been making full use of TikTok. They currently have 1.6 million followers on the app as of April 2022! Check out one of their TikTok videos below.
