We would like to update you on the status of legal proceedings regarding acts that infringe upon the rights of our artists.

Slander from both Korean and international netizens have been collected and the company will pursue charges. They also ask for fans’ active help in reporting malicious posts.

Recently, we have collected malicious posts and comments from domestic and international online communities and social media channels that defame and insult our artists by spreading false information and malicious slander, and we have recently filed criminal complaints. We will actively cooperate with the necessary investigations by the relevant authorities and intend to take strong civil and criminal measures.

As previously stated, there will be absolutely no leniency or settlement during this process. We will continue to monitor for any illegal activities that infringe upon our artists’ personal rights and disrupt their stable activities, and we will respond strictly, including by filing additional legal complaints. If you have any evidence of such illegal acts, we ask for your active support in reporting it to us. (fan@jype.com)

Thank you.

Netizens support the decision to press charges on those who spread slanderous words online.

  • “I’m not a hardcore fan, but I always thought the malicious comments were way too much, good for them.”
  • “Honestly, I don’t mind criticism over bullying, but for members getting hate unrelated to that, I’ve been hoping they’d sue… finally.”
  • “Fighting with the lawsuits. It’s finally happening.”
  • “I fully support suing over malicious comments.”
  • “Even trolls on the lawsuit notice are getting a response one by one. Whether internal or external, if you didn’t leave the hate yourself, fine. But if you used bullying or mocking someone’s looks as an excuse to post malicious wording, you deserve to be sued.”
