Super Junior’s Heechul Discusses Selling His Car Out Of Fear He May Drink And Drive
Super Junior‘s Heechul recently appeared on TEO‘s Salon Drip YouTube program, where he got very real about several subjects, including his drinking habits.
After discussing his weight gain, Jang Do Yeon asks Heechul if he does not want to cut out alcohol to help speed up the process. He replies that he did promise fans he would drink less, but ultimately he can’t cut it out entirely, though he has changed his habits.
A bit later in the program, when he’s prompted to send a message to fans, he admits that while he cannot say, “I won’t do anything to worry you,” he will do less to worry fans.
Heechul says that there are times when he cannot trust himself, mentioning that not all people who drink drive afterward. He admits he cannot trust himself and sold his car with drunk driving prevention in mind.
Not all people who drink, do drink and drive, but I can’t trust myself. I sold my car thinking that if I was drunk there was a 1% possibility that I may drive in that state.

Jang Do Yeon says that this thought process is very courageous as not many people can think like that. After the host says that most people would give themselves the benefit of the doubt, Heechul says he can’t do that.
He finishes this portion by saying that ultimately, he tries his best to make no mistakes.
