TREASURE’s Asahi Has A “Flirty” Moment On Dating Show, Reactions Fiercely Divided
Shining Solo, a Single’s Inferno-style dating show featuring YG Entertainment‘s boy group TREASURE members, aired its third episode—amid initial and continuing backlash against the idea.
As the episodes progressed, the cast grew more comfortable around one another, creating some viral moments…
…one of which featured member Asahi and female cast Ji Yeon.
While dining, Ji Yeon asked Asahi where he was from. When he answered, “Osaka,” Ji Yeon pretended to shoot—to which he responded by pretending to be shot.
The two were referencing a popular “experiment” that was done after TV personality Kangnam once claimed that the Japanese people living in Osaka will “always fake death in reaction” to a stranger pretending to shoot them.
After giggling through it, Ji Yeon asked if Asahi knew about the experiment…
…to which Asahi mentioned that he had “faked death” over 500 times ever since.
Ji Yeon: Wait, do you know about this?
Asahi: Yeah. I’ve been shot over 500 times…
Ji Yeon: Oh, really?! [Laughs]
This adorable flirtatious moment between Asahi and Ji Yeon gained great attention, with a lot of fans praising Asahi for overcoming his shyness to lead the conversation and Ji Yeon for letting the idol take his time opening up.
