Legendary Singer Song Dae Kwan Passes Away

Song Dae Kwan, a legend of Korean trot music, passed away on the morning of February 7, KST.

According to media reports, Song visited the emergency room at Seoul National University Hospital on February 6, KST, due to poor health condition. However, he passed away the next day after suffering a heart attack. Song was 78 years old.
The singer was scheduled to appear on KBS1‘s Gayo Stage next week but cancelled his appearance due to deteriorating health.
Song Dae Kwan debuted in 1967 and became an icon in the Korean trot music scene for decades to come. Some of his most popular hits include, “Four Bears,” “One Ticket,” and “Popular Song.” He was referred to as one of the “four kinds of trot,” along with Tae Jin Ah, Hyun Cheol, and Seol Woon Do.
