TWICE Are Attending The "Billboard Women In Music" Event To Accept An Award — Here's Everything You Need To Know

Billboard just announced their Billboard Women in Music 2023 award recipients, and K-Pop fans couldn’t be more excited to see that TWICE is set to receive the “Breakthrough” award.

Billboard has been hosting the Billboard Women in Music event annually since 2007 when Reba McEntire won the first “Woman of the Year Award.”

Each year Billboard’s Women in Music event recognizes music’s rising artists, creators, producers, and executives for their contributions to the industry and community.

This year’s award ceremony is being held at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, California, on March 1. Ticket will be available to watch the event live with presale (available to American Express card members) on January 31 and February 1. Tickets will go on sale publicly on February 3.

Although the “performances and additional talent [are yet] to be announced,” Billboard has confirmed that Quinta Brunson, who has gained immense recognition for her television series Abbott Elementary, will be hosting the event.

Similarly, while the “Woman of the Year Award” recipient has not yet been announced, many of the other categories’ winners have been. Becky G is receiving the “Impact Award.” Doechii is receiving the “Rising Star” award. Ivy Queen is receiving the award for “Icon.” Kim Petras is taking home the “Chartbreaker” award, Lainey Wilson the “Rulebreaker” award, and Lana Del Rey the “Visionary” Award. And, of course, TWICE is receiving the “Breakthrough” award.

TWICE are notably the only group other than Fifth Harmony to receive an award at the Billboard Women in Music event.

And fans suspect the group will get a chance to perform at the event and further showcase their immense talents, since previous award winners have been able to.

Fans understandably couldn’t be more proud of TWICE’s accomplishments as the group has continually appeared on Billboard’s year-end charts. Especially since the group isn’t receiving a K-Pop-specific award, which K-Pop fans have called out Billboard for giving in the past.
