TWICE's Jihyo Surprises Fans With A New Fact About The Group's Contract Renewal

TWICE’s Jihyo has since clarified the GRAMMY Magazine interview, pointing out that there may have been a “mistranslation” regarding her comment on the contract renewal. In a Bubble message following the media attention on the interview, Jihyo made it clear that she did not mean “the members didn’t know about the renewal until the official announcement.” She corrected the mistranslation and clarified that she meant, “None of us really knew how the renewal would go until the contracts were actually drafted and we sat down to sign them.”

August has been a significant month for K-Pop’s top girl groups. Leading groups from K-Pop’s second, third, and fourth generations have all made their awaited return, and soon, TWICE will join the impressive list.

We’re only a few days away from their awaited comeback on August 26, and the group promises to show fans new styles and genres.

TWICE’s music video teasers and concept photos show the members in spy-like clothing for one set of photos and trendy Y2K fashion for another teaser image.

This comeback is especially exciting because it’s the group’s first Korean comeback since all nine members renewed their contracts with JYP Entertainment.

The members spoke with GRAMMY Magazine about their upcoming comeback and what to expect from the group moving forward. During their interview, leader Jihyo shared something that surprised fans.

Fans were surprised by the statement; seeing as the members of TWICE are so close, they expected the group would have discussed such a major decision beforehand. ONCE hilariously weighed in with their disbelief.
