Particularly, international fans are upset about the use of AI-generated imagery in the video.

The comments were immediately swarmed by fans who disapprove the use of AI in creative projects.

Korean netizens were also not a fan of the teaser: Though many are okay with the use of AI, majority felt it was “ugly” and poorly made.

  • “AI gets used a lot in idol promos and music videos anyway… the problem is this just looks badly made. They probably just generated something quickly with AI tokens and used it as-is with no effort. And these are shots where there’s clearly no reason to even use AI — they could’ve at least touched it up in post so it looked nicer.”
  • “I’m not even sure why they needed to use AI for this video… You can use AI, but they really didn’t need to make this with AI. The filming itself wasn’t difficult, and the only ‘unrealistic’ element is the sky. If it was because of budget, then it’s just a problem with the mindset of whoever approved it lol.”
  • “Using AI itself is fine, but it’s annoying that they used AI for something a person could’ve just filmed wearing a mask. They say it’s to cut production costs, but cutting costs in K-pop? lol ㅠ And for a promo video too…”
  • “The person was actually filmed wearing a mask — the background is what’s AI.”
  • “Wow, using AI like that makes their job ridiculously easy lol.”
  • “Did they seriously upload that without realizing how international fans would react? lol If they truly didn’t know, that’s kind of surprising.”
