V Makes History, Breaking Adele And BTS’s iTunes Record While Setting His Own

He is the only artist in the world to achieve this.

Fans don’t call BTS‘s a “history maker” for nothing. He has now achieved a record that no other artist has!

On July 6, BTS’s “Black Swan” became the song with the most #1’s worldwide on iTunes. Thanks to dedicated fans, the song jumped from 97 to 103 countries, surpassing Adele’s 5-year-old record. Adele set her record (102 countries) in 2015, when she released “Hello”.

Soon after “Black Swan” broke Adele’s record, V’s “Sweet Night” (a solo song for the Itaewon Class OST) joined the “100 club’s” top three. “Sweet Night” charted at #1 worldwide on iTunes in 101 countries, which made V the third highest-charting artist on iTunes. The spot was previously held by Taylor Swift‘s “Look What You Made Me Do” (99 countries).

As of July 8, V has now soared to the very top, surpassing both BTS and Adele by charting at #1 in 105 countries! He is officially the first in history to score #1s in 105 countries, making him iTunes’ #1 artist worldwide.

Now fans are celebrating his achievements with congratulatory messages and trending “Kim Taehyung” on Twitter.
