“Yumi’s Cells” Season 3 Finalizes Casting For “End Game” Male Lead — Sparks Intense Disapproval

Yumi’s Cells Season 3, continues the story of Yumi (played by Kim Go Eun), who returns as a successful writer. As always, the series will follow her beloved inner cells—personifications of her thoughts and emotions—as they grow and navigate the complexities of life and love.

Following the official announcement of the Season 3 production—three years after the last season aired—Kim Go Eun was confirmed to reprise her role as the beloved protagonist. Anticipation quickly grew around who would portray Shin Soon Rok, Yumi’s final love interest in the original webtoon.

On May 19, 2025, it was reported that actor Kim Jae Won is set to take on the role of Shin Soon Rok, the new male lead. According to OSEN’s report, the casting decision has been finalized, marking another exciting chapter for the hit series.

Kim Jae Won began his career as a model in 2018 and transitioned to acting in 2021. He has since built an impressive resume, appearing in dramas such as Our Blues, The World You Fall Into, King the Land and Hierarchy. Yumi’s Cells Season 3 is scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2026 exclusively on TVING.
