ARMY Will Never Forget The Award That Changed BTS’s Lives

Get your tissues ready. It’s about to get nostalgic up in here.

These days, BTS has more awards than they can carry, but this particular win will always have a special place in ARMYs’ hearts.

2015 was a pivotal year for BTS. It was the year of The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever, the album that served as a key stepping stone in BTS’s climb to mainstream stardom.

The “FIRE” MV became the fastest BTS music video to reach one million views at the time, in just 6 hours. “FIRE”, “Save Me,” and “Epilogue: Young Forever” took the top three spots on Billboard‘s World Digital Songs Chart, which had never been achieved by a K-Pop act before.

Fans and critics both completely fell in love with The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever. “I NEED U”, “Butterfly”, and “RUN” are still among some of BTS’s most beloved songs today.

Earlier this year, ARMY ranked “Save Me” as BTS’s fifth best song of all time, while music critics placed “Butterfly” in fifth, “Save Me” in fourth, “RUN” in third, and “I NEED U” in second.

Even though The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever was such a huge success in every way, BTS still did not expect to take home the “Best Album of the Year” award at the 2016 Melon Music Awards.

When their group name was called, the members were totally in shock and disbelief.

They made their way to the stage to the sound of…

…deafening applause.

The members were overcome with emotion as RM thanked BTS’s families, agency…

…and ARMY for helping BTS to win such a prestigious award.

It was the first time they had ever won “Best Album of the Year”.

After RM’s speech, the members gathered in a group hug that will forever stay in ARMY’s memories.
