Meet Byun Seong Tae: The Handsome Idol From “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” And Former “Produce 101” Contestant
Netflix and tvN‘s latest K-Drama Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha has been gaining love worldwide since it started airing! With its heartwarming and healing storyline, fans worldwide have fallen in love with the characters!
In particular, one character that has caught the attention of fans online is “June,” a member of the fictional group DOS. In the K-Drama, Yoon Hye Jin (played by Shin Min A) fangirls over June with Oh Joo Ri (played by Kim Min Seo).
Rookie actor Byun Seong Tae plays June and, although this K-Drama might be the first time many people have ever seen him, it isn’t his first time in the spotlight!
Seong Tae was born on March 9, 1998, and is signed to the agency Urban Works Entertainment. Despite people seeing him as an actor, he actually started as an idol. More specifically, he caught the attention of fans after many realized that he was a former contestant on Mnet’s Produce 101.
During his introduction video, he caught the attention of fans for his “Prince” like visuals and charisma. He showcased true potential from his cheerleading skills, special talents, and energy even back then.
He also had the support of fellow Urban Works artists. In particular, someone who knew the hardships of being a contestant on Produce 101, which was IZ*ONE‘s Min Ju!
During the show itself, he shone in performances of tracks such as GOT7‘s “Girls Girls Girls,” where people noticed his visuals, talent, and personality shine on a larger scale.
However, after several appearances when the show ended, Byung Seong Tae seems to have shifted his focus to acting. Since making his acting debut, he has starred in several popular web dramas, from I Can See Your MBTI to Let’s See What They’re Doing. He also made a cameo in the well-known K-Drama Nevertheless.
Making himself known in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, it is no surprise that fans have fallen for his character. With experience in the idol business, he made the character more authentic.
