Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany Spills Her Secret To Having Flawless Skin Even After Sleeping With Makeup On Several Times

We’re taking notes!

Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany has always been known for her youthful appearance.

The 33-year old singer often receives compliments for her “immortal” features. No matter how many years pass by, she still looks similar to her 18-year old self who debuted in 2007.

In a recent interview with CNA Lifestyle, she discussed the effects of making a comeback on her skincare routine. Though she usually washes her face religiously, she confessed to sleeping with her makeup on for five days straight at the time of the interview. This was a result of grueling “Forever 1” comeback promotions that gave her almost no time to rest.

The host praised her for having flawless skin despite her jampacked schedule, and Tiffany replied that it was possible because of the efforts of her stylists.

My glam team is incredible.

Only a select few people have a team dedicated to their upkeep. Thankfully, Tiffany’s other beauty secret was more accessible.

I have been drinking a lot of water and electrolytes. I think that’s the secret: water and electrolytes.

— Tiffany

She noted that many people connect the act of drinking water with an overall healthier body and thus clearer skin. This, however, was not enough in her eyes. Tiffany follows “electrolyte skincare” which is often compared to giving one’s face an energy drink.

People just think [drinking] water [is enough to have good skin], but recently I have made sure I drink a lot of electrolytes after a rehearsal, so I think that balances [it all out].

— Tiffany

Electrolytes are minerals that conduct electricity when mixed with water, enabling cells to regulate pH levels and allowing the skin to retain water. It is a key ingredient in many energy and sports drinks as well as skincare treatments.

Electrolytes help you retain water because your blood is not made up of just water alone, but a solution of water mixed with electrolytes. So drinking water with electrolytes mirrors more closely what is in our blood, than just consuming water alone.

Tiffany is a firm believer that electrolytes help rejuvenate her skin especially when she cannot dedicate enough time to take care of it. She now asks her team to always prepare a bottle of it for her prior to any sort of practice.

I’m open to [all kinds of electrolytes]. Whatever is available, I’m not too picky. I just make sure before rehearsal, I’m like, ‘Can you guys give me a bottle of any type of electrolytes you can find?’
