IVE’s Ahn Yujin Is The Same Height As The Average Korean Male, But Evidence Proves The Reality Could Be Much Different
When it comes to idols known for their unreal proportions, IVE‘s Ahn Yujin is always on the list.
Along with her talent and visuals, she is also extremely tall and has always gained attention for her height, especially compared to other female idols.
Recently, Ahn Yujin’s height became a topic of debate on Korean forums. In images shared, many pointed out that the idol seemed to be taller than the average Korean man, which is meant to be 172.5cm, and some were from before her IVE days.
As Ahn Yujin is said to be between 172-173cm but seemed to be taller than many of the men in the pictures, many started to believe that the idol might be taller than she is billed. In particular, when stood alongside Heechul from Super Junior (who is said to be 176cm), the female idol is definitely taller.
Yet, along with these photos showcasing Yujin’s height, many believe that Starship Entertainment hasn’t been truly honest with fans. In particular, the topic resurfaced after a recent clip from IVE’s appearance on a reality show gained attention.
IVE once appeared on the variety show Earth Arcade. In one of the clips, Yujin was dancing alongside rapper Lee Young Ji. Standing next to each other and both with bare feet, it seemed like both Yujin and Lee Young Ji had similar heights.
Yet, the reason it raised questions was, according to official stats, Yujin is 172-3cm while Lee Young Ji is billed at around 176cm. Despite three whole centimeters difference, many believe that the gap between the two stars is much less.
While some thought that maybe it was Lee Young Ji’s height that was exaggerated, it wouldn’t be surprising to know that Starship Entertainment lied about Ahn Yujin’s height. It is known that companies will lie about certain details, such as height or weight, to create this perfect “image.”
Female idols are known for being “feminine” and “light,” which can be linked to a petite look. So, it wouldn’t be surprising if Ahn Yujin’s height was decreased to continue that idea, especially when the average height of females is 159.6cm.
Although it is up to the company to update fans on the height of its artists, there is no denying that Ahn Yujin is tall. Whether she is billed as shorter or taller than in reality, the idol will continue to wow with her proportions.
