Most People Don’t Know It, But IU Was Actually Licensed As A Legit Police Officer
It’s not common knowledge, but IU used to be an honorary senior police officer with the South Korean police force!
She was made an honorary member in February 2013 and in 2014 was promoted to senior officer thanks to her hard work and success as an anti-bullying ambassador. She participated in various activities and events to help stop bullying in schools as well as to publicize the 117 call center for victims of crime.
An honorary corporate promotion ceremony was held in her honor when she rose in the ranks. Life Safety Commissioner Seo Bum Soo joked at the time, “If she gets promoted at least once a year, she will be the chief executive by the time she’s 30!”
One word from IU impacts Korean teenagers a lot more than the sermons of police officers.

IU took her role very seriously, thanking the Korean Police office for the quick promotion, and vowing to work even harder in the position. She was titled as senior police officer for two years, until 5 November, 2016.
She did a lot of good in the community during her time as a public servant, improving public relations and promoting safety in the community.
