Third-Generation Idol Shares Tear-Jerking Story Of A Fan That He Will Remember Forever
THE BOYZ‘s Kevin recently shared a touching story of a young fan that inspired him. Through his subscription messaging app, he recounted how the fan caused him to like the character Kuromi.
Kevin had been in Japan and he showed off a newly-bought Kuromi doll from Don Quixote. The doll reminded him of a special fan that he wanted to tell fellow Deobies about. He got permission from their family to retell the tale.
“In the summer of 2022, our Japanese agency contacted me. They received note from a nurse in a hospital in Japan, of a patient that the nurse was taking care of. The patient only had a little time left, but whenever they saw the nurse, they would talk about THE BOYZ and their hospital room was filled with my photos. I sent the fan a video letter before they lost consciousness…”
“It turns out, the fan did cover dances of our songs, and came to most of our schedules… They also wrote letters to us on the fancafe almost daily. Their profile picture was Kuromi. I noticed that their ID and PFP, which I saw regularly, began to be lesser seen. That was when I received that news, so I looked their ID up again. I wanted to visit them in the hospital, but was unable to due to COVID-19 rules.”
“I sent them our signed album and merch, as well as a Kuromi, that they loved so much. Our management even took a video of their reaction to my video letter. They really wanted to go to our concert one last time, but unfortunately, they were unable to…”
“But still, their mom and sister, as well as the nurse that contacted us first, came to watch our 2023 summer concert. After the performance, I went out to the corridor and saw the three of them coming, so I ran over and hugged them.”
According to Kevin, the fan’s mother showed him a framed picture of the fan and proudly claimed that they made it to the show after all. Kevin even received a photo of the fan’s hospital ward with his photos up in it to share with other fans.
Through the fan, Kevin was reminded that his job is a precious one that could bring inspiration to many! The fan now stays in his memory forever.
