Top K-Drama Actress Addresses Allegations Of Being Related To The Vietnamese Royal Family
Rising K-Drama star Lee Se Hee has officially addressed the unusual rumor that she hails from Vietnamese royal lineage, a claim that recently gained traction across social media and YouTube.
Best known for her breakout role as Park Dan Dan in the hit series Young Lady and Gentleman, Lee Se Hee appeared on the July 5 episode of MBC’s The Manager, where she directly responded to speculation about her ancestry. The rumor suggested that Lee Se Hee belonged to the Hwasan Yi clan, which some netizens associate with descendants of Vietnamese royalty. In Vietnam, this connection led to her being subtly referred to online as a “noblewoman” from a revered lineage, sparking fan intrigue and a swirl of misinformation.

However, Lee Se Hee coolly debunked the claim.
“I saw those posts too. But I’m actually from the Jeonju Yi clan, not Hwasan Yi. People seemed to think I was royalty, so I just let it be.”
While Lee Se Hee may not be descended from Vietnamese royalty, her grounded personality and rising fame continue to earn her admiration at home and abroad.
