While BL (boy love) dramas have held their popularity for some time, the genre of GL (girl love) is less widespread. This has been challenged in recent years, with numerous GL series being produced in many different countries.

Along with this growth in LGBT drama content, idols have also begun appearing in series. All of the members of the boy group OnlyOneOf appeared in the BL series “Bump Up Business” in 2024, while other idols have appeared alongside popular actors in other series.

Now, a female idol group is doing something similar!

In mid-January, it was announced that members of BNK48 would appear in the new GL series “Shock Me Girls.” The series is described as a romantic comedy, and will feature members “Monet” Parita Rirermkul, “Praew” Praewa Siriwattanasakdikul, “Janry” Kalnyarat Panphiphat, and “Marine” Kotchapon Ponchokchai.

An official teaser for the show was also released, giving a peek at what is to come for the show.

At least one of the members is currently 17, so the series will likely be free of any explicit scenes other dramas sometimes include.

The official teaser video is scheduled to be released in February, while the show is planned to come shortly after.
