Male Idol Visibly Shaken After Watching Graphic Accident Footage, Netizens Slam Show For Triggering His Trauma
A male idol’s unexpected reaction to watching real-life traffic accident footage has become the source of a heated debate online.
The idol in question, Kyuhyun of Super Junior, was seen absolutely shaken while the production crew of the popular JTBC variety show, Han Moon Cheol’s Blackbox Review, showed its panelists a video of a real-life traffic accident.

While every cast member was physically in a state of shock watching the video, Kyuhyun was seen completely frozen with his mouth hanging open, almost as if in a silent scream.
Accident shown was so bad.. Never seen kyuhyun this shocked :(( pic.twitter.com/yhfxgvRxr3

This reaction sparked heated backlash against the show as fans felt that the footage made Kyuhyun relive the trauma of his own serious car accident that put him in a coma.
i need korean varieties to drop their fucked up formats using trauma for big gasp moments or laughs bc nobody sane would enjoy seeing this https://t.co/SvmiEb0PX6

you can see how shakened up he was by how his eyes became unfocused while rolling back and his breath became more choppier and short like he was taken back to that moment.. no one deserves to relive the trauma they have fought hard to overcome i gen hope kyu leaves the program https://t.co/pHGLWVfzGW

I don’t even go here, but can they stop showing people accidents like this, even if they aren’t ‘that bad’?” https://t.co/q9a9DPZdwZ

showing a survivor of a near-fatar car crash an accident is extremely diabolical idk. like look at kyuhyun's reaction it's painfully clear he was neither expecting it and nor does he take it well
entertainment at the expense of someone's genuine trauma is fucking sinister. https://t.co/0lRrubb0vD— 🐙Dixie Normus¹²⁷🐙SEMI-IA UNTIL JUNE (@dixxinormus) April 23, 2026
However, many countered this criticism, pointing out that Kyuhyun had been a permanent cast member on this show since episode one and was well aware of the kind of content it dealt with. Fans felt that the criticism was going too far and that the idol was fully capable of making these decisions on his own.
Personally I don't think it was particularly traumatic for Kyuhyun or anything, it was just that the accident video was very shocking and everyone there was equally shocked as well
He even mentioned before that he actually has no PTSD from that accident at all#KYUHYUN #규현 https://t.co/5XUvpBffoC pic.twitter.com/2csctWCYHE

he's on the show to promote/learn driving safety, road safety. He uses the tips irl, because I remember there was an ep where they said standing by poles is safer or smth and he followed the advicepic.twitter.com/Q8vWzIq4Wv https://t.co/hSpIvJ8J4t

Guys I would like to remind the masses that Kyuhyun in the Blah Blah MV literally has his character die in a car crash. He is a grown man who decided to participate in this EDUCATIONAL SHOW about accidents. It's not everyone's cup of tea but don't start projecting https://t.co/HTgYpQL9jC

This show is certainly not for everyone, but ICYMI, he has been on this show for yrs & also shared his exp. They aint torturing him. He also clarified on KyuTV that he has no PTSD abt it. He has strong mindset and sometimes makes me wonder how he does it
