Why LE SSERAFIM Fans Are Furious About The Group’s Latest Performance Video

“Please stop with these tone-deaf decisions.”

LE SSERAFIM‘s latest Studio Choom performance video is drawing unexpected backlash—not because of the members, but because of an alleged male trainee’s appearance.

Following the release of the group’s Studio Choom performance for their latest title track “BOOMPALA,” fans quickly began discussing the ending section of the video, where several backup dancers appear, and one male dancer is given a noticeable solo moment.

Some fans have since alleged that the dancer is not simply a performer, but a male trainee under Source Music. The speculation immediately sparked frustration among LE SSERAFIM fans, many of whom felt that the group’s long-awaited comeback performance was being used to promote someone else.

One viral reaction read, “They’re saying he’s a Source male trainee. LE SSERAFIM is basically being used as backup right now to promote him. I’m so dumbfounded.”

Another fan pointed out that the performance video was especially significant because LE SSERAFIM recently returned with their second full-length album after three years.

So LE SSERAFIM came back with their second full album after three years, and in what may be their only five-member choreography performance video, they used us as extras to promote a Source male trainee by giving him a 10-second solo shot?

Others criticized the creative decision itself, questioning why the ending dance break focused on a male dancer instead of the members.

“I don’t understand what strange idea this is, both on music shows and Studio Choom, where a bunch of dancers rush out at the end and they give a dance break to some random male dancer,” one fan wrote.

Please get rid of it immediately. LE SSERAFIM doesn’t need dancers except for year-end stages or concerts.

Another reaction similarly asked, “Why is LE SSERAFIM’s full album title track being used to hype up some male trainee?”

Many fans were especially upset by the possibility that the moment could later be used as pre-debut promotion.

I’m already mad thinking about how they’ll later go viral with, ‘That guy from the BOOMPALA stage is debuting?’ Why does LE SSERAFIM have to stand in the back while some unknown guy gets a solo shot during their full album title track stage? I don’t want to be mad about this. Like there isn’t even enough time for me to enjoy BOOMPALA. But then what sh*t is this?

Another fan added, “What was that male dancer at the ending? I don’t know if they’re planning to market him later as the male trainee who appeared on LE SSERAFIM’s stage or if he’s actually just a dancer, but please stop with these tone-deaf decisions.”

As of now, the identity of the dancer has not been officially confirmed, and Source Music has not publicly addressed the backlash. However, the reaction shows that many fans feel strongly that LE SSERAFIM’s comeback stages should keep the focus on the members, especially during a major full-album promotion cycle.
