BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” Has Landed On British GQ’s Top 10 “List Of Best Songs 2019”

The queens did that!

BLACKPINK‘s “Kill This Love” has managed to snag a spot on British GQ‘s Top 10 List of Best Songs of 2019 as the only K-Pop song to do so!

On December 29, British GQ released its list of best songs, titled The biggest, boldest songs of 2019, and on that list, BLACKPINK emerged as the #9 entry!

The editor of Britsh GQ, David Levesley, described BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” as a litmus test to introduce non-K-Pop fans to the exceptional genre:

Whenever people in my life suggest they don’t like K-Pop, the litmus test is always “Kill This Love”. BLACKPINK have never shied away from songs that feel like the Amazons staging a military parade, but their biggest single from 2019 takes it to a whole other level: the verses build and build, the bridges are sensual and feature a more mature, earthy vocal from Jisoo and Rosé and the chorus is absolutely exceptional.

You don’t even need to know their choreography to get your jush to those pounding horns, but their routine full of jagged poses takes it to new pop heights.

Other artists on the lists include Lizzo, Bilie Eilish, Mark Ronson, Stormzy, Dua Lipa and more!

BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girl group to chart on both the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 for four weeks in a row this year! They were nominated for and won three awards at the 2019 E! People’s Choice Awards, all with “Kill This Love”!

BLACKPINK is currently on their Japan Dome tour, which will conclude in February 2020. YG Entertainment has also stated that BLACKPINK is aiming to make a comeback in early 2020. Earlier this month, BLINKS protested outside the YG Entertainment building in hopes for better treatment for BLACKPINK, and trended worldwide, prompting the agency to respond to them.
