These 10 K-Pop Girl Groups Have Made The Most Album Sales In 2021 So Far
We recently took a look at the 10 best-selling boy groups of 2021 so far, so to balance things out, it’s only fair that we mention the girl groups as well!
While there have been some great releases from girl groups in 2021, there are several top-selling girl groups that had their last release in 2020, or even 2019 for one artist!
Here are the 10 best-selling K-Pop girl groups of the year so far.
10. Weeekly
Weeekly has done quite well as a rookie girl group so early in their career! Their latest album, We Play, was released on March 17 this year, and it contributed to most of their 38.0k total sales in 2021 so far!
9. Red Velvet
Red Velvet hasn’t released an album in well over a year, so the fact that they still made it onto #9 on this list just shows how loved and popular they are! So far in 2021, they’ve sold a total of 39.3k album copies.
8. Oh My Girl
Like Red Velvet, Oh My Girl also hasn’t released an album yet in 2021 — their most recent, Nonstop, came out in April 2020 — but they still made it to #8 on this chart with 47.2k album sales in the year thus far!
7. STAYC
STAYC is another rookie girl group that has taken off quite successfully! They came out with their latest album, Staydom, on April 8, and between (mostly) it and their debut album Star to a Young Culture, they’ve sold 58.8k albums in 2021!
6. Cosmic Girls
Cosmic Girls is a group that seems to be taking off quite a bit lately! Their album sales have, for the most part, increased steadily since their debut in 2016, and their 2021 album, Unnatural, makes up most of their 92.0k sales of the year so far!
5. Dreamcatcher
Dreamcatcher has also seen a rise in their popularity over the last couple of years! Their Dystopia: Road to Utopia album, released on January 26, 2021, has been their best-selling yet, and contributes largely to their 129.6k album sales of the year!
4. TWICE
TWICE is another group that hasn’t come out with a new album in 2021, but that hasn’t stopped them from being the fourth best-selling girl group of the year so far! With all of the sales of past albums combined, they have sold 134.8k total units in 2021.
3. BLACKPINK
Once again, though BLACKPINK hasn’t released a new album since they dropped The Album back in October of last year, their popularity is no joke! In 2021 so far, they’ve made 182.2k total album sales.
2. (G)I-DLE
(G)I-DLE has become one of the most successful girl groups of the current generation of K-Pop, and deservedly so! With the release of their latest album, I Burn, on January 11, 2021, they’ve made 213.6k total album sales in the year between it and other lower-selling past albums!
1. ITZY
And finally, ITZY’s more than proven that they’re a group to be reckoned with in the K-Pop industry! Their April 30, 2021 release, Guess Who?, made up the majority of their 257.9k sales so far in the year.
