“Alchemy Of Souls” Actor Lee Jae Wook Wants To Win “Best Couple,” But His Choice Of Co-Star Will Shock You
One of the hottest K-Dramas of 2022, and the beginning of 2023, has to have been Alchemy Of Souls. The show had two series that captured the hearts of netizens worldwide and had viewers on the edge of their seats.
Recently, actor Lee Jae Wook, who plays Jang Uk, picked the person he wants to win “Best Couple” with, and the answer might surprise you.
The series saw Lee Jae Wook showcasing his acting alongside some amazingly talented female co-stars.
When the series started, his acting alongside Jung So Min, who played Naksu, was unreal, and the two portrayed a very beautiful relationship in the episodes.
He particularly gained attention for his unreal chemistry with Go Youn Jung, who played Jin Bu Yeon. On-screen, their relationship went from cold to hot within episodes, showcasing a new passion growing in some steamy AF scenes.
When the cameras weren’t rolling, the duo had a much sweeter relationship, whether it was taking cute selfies or Lee Jae Wook helping Go Youn Jung find four-leaf clovers.
Yet, with so many amazing women he’s worked with, how could he choose someone that he’d like to win “Best Couple” with? Well, he picks someone totally unexpected and sends the internet into a meltdown.
In an interview following the show’s ending, when asked about who he wants to win the “Best Couple” award with, his answer was short, simple, but extremely unexpected, as he explained, “I can only say one person: Me and the prince.”
Of course, Lee Jae Wook is referring to the Crown Prince in the show, played by Shin Seung Ho. Although netizens weren’t sure of his character at the start, he quickly became a fan favorite with his visuals, charm, and charisma.
Of course, the relationship between the Prince and Jang Uk slowly developed over the episodes, going from enemies, to frenemies, to friends… at some points, there were even hilarious moments that could’ve seen them as lovers.
The most famous interactions come from the turtle the Crown Prince took in because of Jin Bu Yeon. Whether it was the sadness when the Prince found out the real reason Jang Uk took care of his turtle, Jang Uk comforting the Prince when the turtle went missing…
And even the fact that the turtle was also the reason the Crown Prince chose to help Jang Uk and turn away from his master.
Throughout the series, netizens have loved the growing relationship between the two characters, so it wasn’t surprising that Lee Jae Wook also found himself being fond of the bond between them.

Whether Lee Jae Wook’s dreams of winning the award with Shin Seung Ho happen or not, both actors have become true fan favorites. In particular, many hope it could be the start of Shin Seung Ho finally getting a lead role.
