It seems like BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon is ready to start the next stage of his career following the end of his exclusive contract with YG Entertainment.
Although starting his trainee career in SM Entertainment as a young child, G-Dragon has spent the majority of his career under YG Entertainment, releasing music with BIGBANG and as a soloist.
Earlier in the week, netizens had suspicions that G-Dragon might have joined the other members in leaving the company.
In a quarterly annual report, G-Dragon’s name was missing amidst the name of YG’s singers, including BLACKPINK, TREASURE, AKMU, and others. Yet, as the idol was still listed on the website, fans weren’t sure what to believe.
After YG initially thwarted rumors, explaining he was still under contract, the company backtracked with their statement, revealing that the contract had ended. Still, the two parties were working to discuss an agreement.
Our exclusive contract with G-Dragon has expired at this point. However, we are working together to discuss a separate agreement for some of his other activities such as advertisements.
We will discuss the addition of a separate contract when he resumes his music activities and we will provide our full support.

Well, it seems like G-Dragon might have given fans a hint of his future plans on Instagram.
On June 7 (local time), G-Dragon shared some photos on Instagram that seemingly teased that the idol was back in the studio and creating new music for fans.
While it was exciting enough to see G-Dragon making music, it might have given hints about where the idol is going next… and it might be YG’s subsidiary label, THE BLACK LABEL.
In one of the photos, G-Dragon tagged the producer. 24, who is known to be one of the talented people working at THE BLACK LABEL.
The producer reposted G-Dragon’s post…
When the photos were shared, netizens couldn’t get over the future of the idol. Of course, THE BLACK LABEL is home to very talented stars, including BIGBANG’s Taeyang, and many hope G-Dragon will continue to shine with his talent.
