BLACKPINK’s Jennie Dissed Haters In Her All-English Rap For “Shut Down,” And It Was Glorious

Just Jennie speaking the truth.

BLACKPINK‘s long-awaited title track “Shut Down” has finally dropped, and as expected from the queens of K-Pop, it was perfection! One of the best parts about it, however, was arguably Jennie‘s all-English rap and its powerful lyrics.

In her rap part, the Chanel global ambassador dissed haters and referenced their untouchable fame. Lyrics like “Bunch of wannabes that wanna be me” and “We don’t buy it we request it” were a whole new level of badass.

Nah. You don’t wanna be on my bad side. That’s right. I’m slidin’ through. Bunch of wannabes that wanna be me. Me three if I was you. Been around the world, pearls on ya girl, VVS’s we invested. Need a lesson, see the necklace, see these dresses. We don’t buy it we request it.

And Jennie wasn’t lying! True to her words, the BLACKPINK members are booked and busy. Each one of them models for famous luxury brands around the world: Lisa for CELINE, Jisoo for DiorRosé for Saint Laurent, and of course, Jennie for Chanel. They’re at a level where most people can’t touch them.

Fans took to social media site Twitter to express excitement over this new iconic rap. They completely agreed with her words, insisting that it was “so true.”

Others called it what it might as well be—a diss track!

Finally, fans praised her execution, saying she “ate that,” “devoured,” and “slayed.” Jennie is famous for being one of the best rappers in K-Pop, and she came back better than ever.
