Fans may wonder why after specifically 9 years, the members decided to release an anthology album and change directions for the group. However, RM revealed during their 2022 FESTA Dinner that it was actually supposed to happen a lot sooner.

He shared that “ON” was supposed to be their last promotion. Since then, their plans for the anthology album have been pushed off until the 9th anniversary.

They planned to go on an extensive world tour for a year which included places like India, Australia, and Spain.

When the COVID-19 pandemic began, the tour was subsequently canceled.

Taking a different approach, the members began to release not only studio albums like BE, but also singles like “Dynamite,” “Butter,” and “Permission to Dance.”

Though their plans veered from their original intentions, it left fans with some iconic eras! Check out more about what’s next for BTS below.
