BTS’s Jin Reveals How Soon And Where He Will Begin His Military Service

ARMY weren’t expecting it to be so soon.

On October 17, it was announced that BTS‘s Jin had withdrawn his request to delay his military service. A report from Yonhap News on November 4 confirmed that he officially submitted the notice.

Since Jin officially submitted the cancellation of his postponement, which was previously postponed until December 31, he is now eligible to be called into fulfilling his military service. The Military Manpower Association will determine the date of Jin’s enlistment, considering the number of applicants, the military’s needs, and the like.

Korean media praised Jin’s decision to cancel his enlistment, which was a contentious topic because of the time the government took trying to decide what would be required of the group. Although fans of the group are sad about Jin’s upcoming enlistment, they are also proud of BTS and hope for their safe return.

In a recent Weverse interaction with a fan, Jin hinted that his upcoming enlistment might be sooner than fans expected.

The fan simply asked if Jin was looking forward to his birthday, December 4, and Jin suggested that he would be serving in the military at that time.

Fan: Oppa, your birthday is next month, are you excited?

Jin: No.. I’m up on the front line (in military).

Jin’s response also likely indicates where he has been assigned to begin his training, suggesting that he was drafted to one of the front line divisions. Although fans weren’t expecting an announcement about Jin’s enlistment date so soon, they wish him the best!
