First “Danielle Vs ADOR” Hearing Sparks Hope For NewJeans Fans
The first hearing in ADOR‘s massive damages lawsuit against former NewJeans member Danielle took place at Seoul Central District Court on May 14.

Neither Danielle nor former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin attended in person, with both sides represented by their legal teams.

Danielle’s lawyers argued that ADOR singled her out among the NewJeans members, served her with a contract termination, and filed a massive lawsuit while allegedly warning other members that they could face the same if they didn’t cooperate.
They also accused ADOR of intentionally dragging the case out, suggesting the real goal is to keep Danielle tied up in legal battles during her prime years as an artist rather than to actually win. Min Hee Jin’s legal team echoed that, calling the delays malicious.

ADOR pushed back by denying any interference with Danielle’s career and saying they want a quick resolution just as much as anyone. They also mentioned the attempt to reschedule the hearing after appointing a new legal representative, but the court rejected that and pressed on.
While there was no real update during today’s hearing, one key detail has fans of the group and Danielle feeling cautiously hopeful.

It was revealed that the deadline to submit an evidence plan was April 30, and ADOR submitted nothing. For many following the case, that raises serious questions about whether the agency has the grounds to back up a lawsuit of this size.
