Girls’ Generation Taeyeon Describes How Lonely And Empty She Feels Because Of The Prolongation Of COVID-19
In a recent Instagram live broadcast, Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon vented her frustration and sadness regarding the prolongation of COVID-19 in Korea.
She started off by explaining that she started the live broadcast for all those who were self-isolating at home.
I turned on the broadcast for those staying home and working hard to practice social distancing.

She continued,
I think we’re all the same. Everyone’s bored at home, we feel out of energy, and we miss people. It’s already a lonely world without COVID-19.

Taeyeon explained that despite being a homebody, COVID-19 has taken a huge emotional toll on her.
I’m sad because I feel like there are less opportunities to see all of you. Some may ask, ‘Aren’t you happy to be home all the time since you’re a homebody?’ But before I’m a homebody, I’m a singer. So I want to sing and perform.

But that’s not all. Taeyeon sympathized with the emotional hardships everyone must be feeling and compared it to losing a job.
It’s true that you feel dejected because just as you think COVID-19 might be getting better, it gets worse. I feel like just like me, everyone who has a job must feel emptiness and a sense of loss. I feel like I lost my job. I almost cried.

Korea has been doing a good job keeping the spread of COVID-19 under control, but the country recently saw another rise in cases, leading to stricter social distancing guidelines once again.
The number of new daily cases is currently hovering in the 200s in Korea.
