Jeon Somi Sparks Public Decency Row Over Latest Picture
Singer Jeon Somi has gotten caught up in a heated debate about public decency after her latest Instagram post.

On January 27, Somi shared some casual pictures on her Instagram account with the caption, “One random day,” capturing glimpses of her everyday life. One of those images showed Somi sitting inside a taxi in Japan, with both her legs raised in the air.

This pose drew immediate criticism, as netizens argued that placing her shoe-clad feet on a taxi seat violated the etiquette expected of commuters on public transportation and commercial vehicles. Given that Japan is big on public manners, reactions to the picture grew heated, with many reprimanding Somi for promoting such behavior as a global star who is active in the country. Many also stated that this behavior might be perceived as disrespectful even in Korea.
Though some also defended the singer, stating that it was not intentional disrespect, Somi deleted the photo a few hours later.
This incident has also brought renewed attention to Somi’s past controversy, where she and TWICE member Chaeyoung were criticized for posing with their shirts lifted at a public photobooth.
