When Netflix released Squid Game, the show became an unexpected global sensation, giving many people worldwide their first introduction to K-Dramas. Many of the actors from the globally popular show also gained international recognition for their phenomenal acting talent.
Although Squid Game was Jung Ho Yeon’s first acting role, she was able to impress viewers with the depth with which she portrayed her character.
In an interview with W KOREA, Jung Ho Yeon even shared that she went as far as writing a journal for Kang Se Byeok, trying to truly understand the emotions and past of her character.
Jung Ho Yeon may have been very self-critical of her acting while filming Squid Game, but there is no disputing that she successfully portrayed a layered, rich character and created empathy for Kang Se Byeon from the viewers.
And while Jung Ho Yeon has also successfully continued her modeling career, soon fans will get to see the actress tackle a new role.
Jung Ho Yeon has now been confirmed to star alongside Cate Blanchett, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Kevin Kline in Apple TV+‘s new thriller series Disclaimer.
