LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura Shares The Hilarious Side Effect Of Being An Idol For So Long

The *dark side* of K-Pop .😅

While being a super-popular K-Pop idol comes with its share of privileges, it also has some well-known side effects. For LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura, though, the struggle is hilariously unique.

Sakura has been an idol for more than half of her life now. She kicked off her idol career in Japan when she was just 12 years old. As a member of the Japanese girl group HKT48, Sakura Miyawaki became a household name in her home country before venturing into K-Pop.

She then became a member of IZ*ONE after making it to the top finalists on the survival show Produce48 in 2018. After the group’s disbandment in 2021, she debuted with LE SSERAFIM in 2022.

With three successful debuts under her belt, Sakura has been an idol for nearly 13 years. And when you’re on the job for this long, some of the workplace habits stick around inevitably.

Recently, the singer appeared on Yoo Jae Suk’s YouTube show, Just An Excuse, with her bandmate Chaewon. The two idols talked candidly about their lives in and out of the role of an idol. When the MC asked them if they had any habits that they picked up from being an idol, Chaewon was the first to answer.

The LE SSERAFIM leader said her work habit was to go to very extreme lengths to show off the prettier side of her face in photos.

While the three broke into a laugh at Chaewon’s honest answer, nothing had them prepared for Sakura’s.

She revealed that her occupational hazard was to break into aegyo at completely irrelevant places.

Sakura explained that she usually is not someone who acts cute naturally, but in the outside world, for example, while ordering food at a restaurant, she would unknowingly bust out some classic aegyo moves, startling herself.

Her demonstration of this habit was so hilarious that even South Korea’s favorite comedian, Yoo Jae Suk, was left in splits.

But as they say, one woman’s occupational hazard is another service worker’s big win, et cetera.
