During the hearing, Yoochun’s legal representative stated that Yoochun acknowledged and is reflecting on his charges but requested that the court carefully review why he had turned to the use of drugs.

(Park Yoochun) acknowledges the charges. Due to his humiliation, he even held a press conference but we ask that you take a look at the process of why he turned to drug use. He was exhausted from the lawsuits in 2016 and during that time, he met Hwang Hana and even planned to get married but came to a point where he could not continue living a normal life. Please consider the fact that it was a difficult process.

When Park Yoochun was given time to make a statement, he took out a piece of paper he had prepared and cried as he read aloud the letter, causing fans to shed tears as well.

Seeing everyone who has been worrying about me and shedding tears since my arrest, I cannot even begin to imagine how disappointed those who supported me would have been due to my mistakes. I desperately felt that I have committed a great sin and I am left with an apologetic mind towards those who believed in me until the very end instead of hating me. I felt the preciousness of freedom while I was iniside. I sincerely apology for causing worry.
