I’m ONLY speaking for myself not as a representative of the girls or the company or anything like that..this song means so much to me and I think it’s so powerful to so many women AND men hurting in relationships. It’s unfortunate people are trying to turn the song and it’s meaning into something negative. It was not written about domestic abuse, however, there are many forms of abuse in relationships and if you are a person that has experienced ANY of them I hope that this song empowers you and touches your heart ❤️ I think anyone can relate to this on the smallest level to the largest. Put yourself and your health first. Thank you for your support ! Lots of love to you all 💕 #killthislove

She says that the song is about being in love with someone who is wrong for you. They love them so much even if it hurts but they know it’s better to leave.

The song revolves around unhappy relationships, where the lows outweigh the high. You give yourself to the relationship and end up hurting yourself, so it’s better to just leave.

She posted her statement amidst rumors on BLACKPINK’s song and photocards being about domestic abuse.

She makes sure to make it clear that she is speaking as the song’s producer and not for BLACKPINK or YG Entertainment.

She says the song is meant to empower both men and women who are in relationships that hurt them. She says it breaks her heart to see people claim it’s written about domestic abuse.

Bekuh Boom hopes that if there are victims of abuse who listen to this song, they feel empowered by it.

She has effectively shut down the claims that “KILL THIS LOVE” is about domestic abuse.
