“School 2020” Clarifies That They Kicked off Ahn Seo Hyun Because of Her Father’s Excessive Demands

“Ahn Seo Hyun’s father’s demands became too excessive for us to handle, which caused for us to make the difficult decision.”

In light of the controversy sparked by actress Ahn Seo Hyun and her father’s claim that KBS’s School 2020 unfairly kicked her off the show and replaced her with Kim Sae Ron, the producers of the show released an official statement claiming that they kicked her off because of her father’s excessive demands.

The translated statement reads as follows:

Hello, we are the producers of KBS’s School 2020.

We are writing to address the letting go of actress Ahn Seo Hyun.

Before we went ahead to sign with Ahn Seo Hyun for the show, her father made excessive demands multiple times over the course of the negotiation.

Despite that fact, we still tried to go ahead with Ahn Seo Hyun, but Ahn Seo Hyun’s father’s demands became too excessive for us to handle, which caused for us to make the difficult decision. When we decided to let her go, there was mutual agreement on both sides, and the notice of departure was just a one-sided claim made by Ahn Seo Hyun’s father.

We tried to wrap up the matters quietly in worry that it could harm the young actress. It was a difficult process, but due to Ahn Seo Hyun’s father spreading false information, we had no choice but to announce our stance. If this situation continues, we will reveal the entire process we had with actress Ahn Seo Hyun and take strong legal measures.
