“Single’s Inferno 2” Choi Seo Eun And Jo Yoong Jae Respond To Criticism About Their Fan Meeting
Single’s Inferno 2 couple Jo Yoong Jae and Choi Seo Eun released information about a fan meeting in mid-January. Within a few days of the announcement, they received endless criticism about their decision to host a ticket fan meeting. At the cost of ₩77,000 KRW (about $62.50 USD) per ticket, many had criticized the couple for hosting a paid event when they had not yet released any content. They are both still considered non-celebrities or public figures at this point.

Following the huge criticism, the two released a statement on January 19, 2022. The fan meeting that they had planned with a company’s help was thereby canceled. The two apologized for their oversight and promised to host another event for free.
I have been slowly reading everyone’s words late into the night. As I read over the criticism, I have repeatedly been reflecting. It was a matter that we had agreed to thank everyone who has been giving us the attention and support that we don’t deserve. But because of the necessary processes and components needed, we ended up being inconsiderate to the participants. We were unable to consider these matters. Whatever the reason is, it was an oversight on my part for not being prudent enough.
We will be canceling the event that we had planned to host with the help of a company. But we remain unchanged in our want to thank everyone who has loved Single’s Inferno 2. So this time, without any company, we will be preparing an event on the same day and time we promised earlier, inviting everyone. (February 11, 1 pm)
We will be conducting this gathering at our own expense. Although some parts of the event will be disappointing as we are not collecting participation fees, we decided on this to convey our sincerity. We’d love it if you guys would come comfortably and enjoy your time with us. We will also conduct an Instagram live simultaneously for those who can’t come due to distance. We’ll release information about how to apply later on, and we will prepare things such as styling tips, Q&As, and surprise events and gifts for those who come.
Our hearts hurt thinking about how we disappointed those cheering us on. We only wanted to meet those who love us and to spend time with and remember them, person to person. We will take this matter with us and use it to become more careful.

Hello. This is Choi Seo Eun. As I’ve read the criticism and varied responses from everyone, I’ve come to many realizations and reflections.
We had wanted to communicate directly with the fans who had given us much support and love through the show if we got a chance to, and right then, we received a proposal for a fan meeting and accepted it happily. But our decision was immature, and thanks to that, I’ve been feeling hurt and guilty about the result of it.
I wish to convey that I had meant for it to be a space where I could thank the fans and pay them back. That is why we decided to cancel the fan meeting that we planned with the company and decided to revamp it completely.
